First off, you should ditch the consultant. You can do this without someone helping you. The consultant will simply take your hard earned money and do exactly what those who have DIY.

It's not going to be easy, but it's also not impossible. I'd be checking CanLII and searching for similar cases to your own. I'm not sure of the percentage of cases similar to yours that have been rejected. I'd say given what you have written here, you have a 50/50 chance.

OMG really 50/50? Its too late since we already paid the consultant and its not refundable :'( well I guess the best thing that i can do for now is to write about our relationship as per advised because I think I already have submitted all evidences I have kept to prove our relationship..Thank you so much FS. I really appreciate it :)

Don't panic. I am only saying 50/50 based on the information you have provided here. I'm probably way off, but you'll need to provide more information and a clearer picture of how you plan to present your case.

Thanks sis..wow its so nice to hear with same case like mine..Do u have facebook or ym? I really want to hear from you and how you go through about it..please add my fb and ym account joan_pie88@yahoo.com . Thanks much

Hi FS,

Thank you for the advice hope to hear more info from you regarding my case.. :)

I would not be discouraged.. just go for it! You know you're a real couple, and ideally you shouldn't be discriminated against for your age difference. You can't fail until you try.

Thank you for the advice hope to hear more info from you regarding my case.. :)

I'll add u now!:)

is this a first marriage for both? this might make a difference.

An important question: are you the applicant or the sponsor?

Has your husband ever sponsored (assuming he's the sponsor) anyone before? Were any of his past marriages short? This, in my view, is another red flag, but not for you, for your husband. You'll need to address this carefully.

No he haven't sponsored anyone other than me.I am the applicant.. On his first wife they had been together for 20years and the second was more than 20 I guess.. I guess the only problem that we have is our age gap :( but there's no harm in trying though :) have u read on same cases like mine that were rejected?

I've read several appeal cases on CanLII with a big age difference. Most of the ones I read were rejected because the judge thought it was a marriage of convenience.

Since you are the applicant, you'll need to go above and beyond with proof of genuineness. The VO will likely be skeptical and may even think you entered into this marriage for the PR visa.

I strongly suggest for you to do some research on CanLII to review similar cases to yours.

That's really all the advice I have...I wish you the best of luck!!!

Really? :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( can u provide the link or site pls.? thanks so much!

Don't interpret my post to mean that YOUR case will be the same. All I was saying was that I have reviewed many cases on CanLII (google it) and found several that were rejected due to a significant age difference, but that reason alone was not the only cause of the rejection, just a contributing factor (in some cases a major factor, in other cases a secondary cause for the judge to reject the appeal).

There is no doubt that you have a long road ahead of you. Please understand that I am not trying to make you feel down, merely giving you my opinions based on the research I have done.

I agree that you should still go for it, but keep in mind that without a substantial amount of QUALITY evidence, it will make things more challenging, but NOT impossible.

I'm not going to say that your case is strong, or give you false hope...I will simply tell you my honest opinion. I know that you want to hear that everything will be fine, and I truly hope it will, but you should also consider what the VO will be thinking when your application crosses his/her desk. That's why I said you should review cases on CanLII to see where others in a similar situation to yours, went wrong.

You can do this, just be extremely well prepared.
