Not needed at all. The only documents that possibly need to be notarized are self-declaration style reference letters by ex-colleagues/supervisors.

Do you know if they would need to be legalized though (issued by a government office, then stamped by the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a Canadian Embassy), or is that not needed as well?

What is meant here by 'self-declaration style'?

Are the original documents in english?

Reference letters which are self-declared rather than provided in the person's official capacity as a supervisor/HR manager for instance. Official letters will be printed on company letterhead while self-declared letters won't.

Thank you for clearing the doubt.
