Documents for Citizenship test...

Hi All,

Some queries..Got my citizenship test date by the month end at Mississauga..and giving me jitters..!!!!

1) Based on CIC website, you need to take originals for documents that you had submitted during the application. Do you take anything extra..utility bills, actual income tax statements filled, Salary Slips etc..???

2) How much time does the citizenship officer generally spend with each application.

3) Is the documents checked after or before the test..??

Any one attending the citizenship test in Mississauga by the month end or attended recently in Mississauga..??

Hi RKMSND,

1) If you have any potential red flags, it may help to bring in some extra documents. For example, I had a lot of travel outside Canada and I knew it would raise some eyebrows. So I brought several years of NOAs, an original letter from my employer, and anything else I thought would help prove my residency in Canada. I think it helped during the interview

2) Are you talking about the interview? Mine was longer than others, at least 20 minutes. But that is because they looked at every stamp in my passport and again, I had to explain all my absences. People without any red flags had much shorter interviews.

3) After the test.

I took my test in Mississauga on Nov. 30th of last year.
