Did you do your medical and included it in the application? Or are you waiting for IRCC to tell you get that done? Also, with COVID, these timelines are probably a mute point now. Cricket silence now and waiting since March 2019 when biometrics was done.

I've not done the medical yet. Application status page says "No Medical Required We'll Tell You If That changes" which is a bit odd so I'm expecting that change and them to request on soon...

It's a letter they send out to give you access to government funded services to make your integration to Canadian life easier.
Congratulations!! And lots of luck! This sounds very exciting! Glad to hear things are moving. By the way, has anyone here applied during the past few months and already received an email with AOR?

Hi

Congrats , what is mention in Pre-Arrival Services Letter...
I think it looks like an Approve in Principal (AIP). Then, you have to pass other stages : Security background, Criminality.

For your reference:

UCI:

Hello,
We are pleased to inform you that you, your spouse and dependants can now receive free
pre-arrival services funded by the Government of Canada. These services are available
before you arrive and are meant to better prepare you for life in Canada.
Pre-arrival services are provided on behalf of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Canada (IRCC) by settlement service provider organizations. These service providers
offer free information to help you with:
• Living and working in Canada;
• Getting your education, work experience, and professional licenses and
certificates recognized in Canada;
• Connecting with employers, and with free supports when you arrive in Canada,
including language training; and
• Connecting with others in your new community, including French-speaking
communities.
If you are outside Canada, we strongly recommend that you use pre-arrival services
before you leave. We encourage you to explore the list of services on the IRCC website:
canada.ca/pre-arrival-services.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-services.asp?utm_source=slash-pre-arriv
al-services&utm_medium=short-url&utm_campaign=general
When you register for pre-arrival services with one of the service providers listed on the
website, you will be asked to provide a copy of this letter. You can contact as many
service providers as you like and receive as many services as you need, and these services
are always at no cost to you.
You are also encouraged to take advantage of free Government of Canada resources
available online, such as Welcome to Canada, the official handbook to help permanent
residents prepare to come and settle in Canada. The handbook is available at cic.gc.ca/publications.
Canada is a bilingual country where both English and French are spoken. If you are
interested in living in a French-speaking community outside Quebec, please visit
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/francophone.asp
For up-to-date information on immigration, settlement services and citizenship, we invite
you to join us on Facebook (Facebook.com/CitCanada) and follow us on Twitter
(Twitter.com/CitImmCanada).
Sincerely,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

Update time:

So, I had my medical back in October 2020. The radiographer saw something she didn't like on my X-rays (slight loss of volume and scarring in my lungs) so, in order to rule out TB, the ordered up a sputum test (3 hefty coughs of lung butter that they send of to be cultured for 8 weeks!) and requested I get a chest CT through my GP. My GP decided that another chest X-ray was more in order so I got that and then had a consultation with a chest specialist.

The TB sputum tests came back negative (knew they would, just really frustrating having to wait another 8 weeks on top of everything, not to mention paying for them and the extra chest X-ray and the chest consult!) and the chest consultant was happy there was nothing to worry about.

Long story short (too late!): I passed the Medical!:p

Now it's back to waiting for the PPR and then the COPR (and then for Canada to reopen so I can activate my PR!).

So, things are moving again, slowly but they're moving... Signature has been updated to reflect this development in the overall timeline.

Congrats again!
My guess is, provided that you are holding a UK passport, that PPR is not required and you will have your COPR received shortly after seeing 'approved' on your GC Key account. Let's wait and see. ;)

I wasn't aware of that about the UK passport holders not needing the PPR.

Update: nothing to update.

Passed medical on Feb 1st and now it's gone radio silence from CIC... I'm currently working on the old notion that "no news is good news".

I realise that reads like a diary entry found on the body of a mountaineer missing from back in the 30's...

I was expecting something else when the notification popped up... was silently screaming 'oh finally!!!' ...

Hang in there!

Sorry! Just reporting nothing to report after 3 months. Was hoping that post medical the wheels would spin a bit faster than this... Why would they put me through a medical if I didn't meet the eligibility requirements etc? (beyond the fact that it's likely a cash generator!)

I hear ya, guv. I cleared my medicals in June last year and there hasn't been a single update since then.
Hard to be stuck in limbo indefinitely.
