yep. in the small print it says you only need to submit IELTS if you're looking to claim points for it. i was already well over the passmark without it so thought I'd save myself the expense and the hassle. We'll see in time if it workd! :D

Hmm... I read that too.

But also this on IMM 4500:
"Proof of Language Proficiency
For your application to be eligible for processing, you must include original results of one of the following language tests from a testing agency designated by IRCC with your application
Note: If you do not submit the original results of your official language proficiency test with your application to the Central Intake Office (CIO), your application will not be processed and will be returned to you as incomplete."

And the guideline for Schedule 6A (Q4):
"Language (continued)
Unless you have taken an approved test or tests to assess your proficiency in English or French, you should not submit an application.
For this reason, your answer to this question should be “yes”. If you answer “no”, and you do not submit the results of the assessment of your official language proficiency, your application will be returned to you as incomplete."

But as far as yours has not been returned and is currently being processed, I think it indicates it's fine?

There's no IMM4500 for Federal Self Employed... My pack would have been returned if that form was important and missing and they wouldn't have requested Bio's.

The following forms must be filled out and submitted by all applicants:

Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) (PDF (Portable Document Format), 553.83KB (Kilobyte))

Additional Dependants/Declaration Form (IMM 0008DEP) (PDF (Portable Document Format), 424.19KB (Kilobyte))

Schedule A – Background/ Declaration (IMM 5669) (PDF (Portable Document Format), 776.39KB (Kilobyte))

Schedule 5: Economic Classes—Declaration of Intent to Reside in Quebec (IMM 0008 Schedule 5) (PDF (Portable Document Format), 541.53KB (Kilobyte))

Schedule 6A: Business Immigrants-Self-Employed Persons (IMM 0008 - Schedule 6A) (PDF (Portable Document Format), 1.78MB (Megabyte))

Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) (PDF (Portable Document Format), 570KB (Kilobyte))

Use of a Representative (IMM 5476) (PDF (Portable Document Format), 648.31KB (Kilobyte)), if applicable.

On one maybe two of those forms it asks if you're claiming points for Language ability and if you tick yes then you have to supply IELTS or CELPIP stuff but otherwise, it's not mandatory as far as I was able to deduce. I am English, English is (pathetically) the only language I speak/read/write and listen in and I use it at a high level professionally and

Hi ,

I have submitted my documents from India on 2019-11-20: Files sent to CIO in Sydney NS

Next thing to do is: go back to your normal life and try not to think about this. It's out of your/our hands now and there's nothing to be gained by refreshing your email every 5 minutes every day desperately hoping for news. It'll come one way or the other but there's life to be lived in the meantime :)

As we approach Christmas I'm going to assume that there's a substantial winding down of Visa application processing on the part of the Canadian Government and will only really check back in once we're in mid January. If anything should happen before then I'll be sure to add it to this thread...

In the meantime, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all of you on this forum looking to move on to pastures new.

Merry Christmas to you too :)
Wishing everyone a great year ahead ;)

UPDATE TIME!!

Today I received my Invitation to Apply for Pre-Arrival Services Letter. I'm doing some digging to find out if this is a tacit/implied acknowledgement that they're inclined to issue PR (why would the invite you to pre-arrival and settlement services if they didn't want to let in?) so will report back when I find more information...

I'm hoping this is the start of some very good news. I know my background check is going to come back clean. My police certificate was spotless and I've never done anything illegal overseas either.

Medically, I'm probably in the best overall health I've ever been in so I'm not too worried about my medical either...

Wish me luck and hope with me that this is good news indeed!

Hi

Congrats , what is mention in Pre-Arrival Services Letter...

Did you do your medical and included it in the application? Or are you waiting for IRCC to tell you get that done? Also, with COVID, these timelines are probably a mute point now. Cricket silence now and waiting since March 2019 when biometrics was done.
