Hi all,

I have received an ITA under FSW in last draw. Now after finishing my application for PR its asking me for uploading certificate of qualification. I have Master's of Electrical Engineering degree from Canadian University. Can I upload my Masters degree as Certificate of qualification? I don't have any other skilled trade certification.
I mentioned "Yes" for "Does [my name] have certification of qualification from a Canadian province or territory?" and i have got points only for "Skill Transferability - Education" (50 points) not for "Skill Transferability - Certificate of qualification".

CRS - Human Capital - Canadian Work Experience 53
CRS - Spouse - Level of Education 0
CRS - Spouse - First Official Language Proficiency 0
CRS - Spouse - Canadian Work Experience 0
CRS - Skill Transferability - Education 50
CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience 0
CRS - Skill Transferability - Certificate of Qualification 0
CRS - Arranged Employment 0
CRS - Provincial/Territorial Nomination 0

please advice

PS: My apologies in advance if this question has been asked several times before. I would appreciate if somebody can provide me links for those topics/threads.

Thanks in advance,
Anupam Roy

Hi Anupam,

You should upload the copy of certificate of qualification document. Because you claimed as you have it in your profile.

The below text is taken from CIC websie:

Provincial or territorial certificate of qualification
Purpose

To validate an applicant’s claim of having a provincial or territorial certificate of qualification

Document requirements

  • This document is only requested if the applicant indicates they have a provincial or territorial certificate of qualification.
A copy of the certificate of qualification is required.

Individuals who must submit this documentation

The principal applicant
Their spouse or common-law partner, if applicable

Thanks for your reply.

Just to clarify, i don't have any skilled trade certification. I thought Master's degree in engineering from Canadian university can be consider as Certification of qualification from Canadian province.

My suggestion would be decline this ITA and wait to get ITA in next draw. That would be better than not proving your claims and getting into trouble. Give it a thought and decide.

Thanks

Ok, Thanks.

I have emailed CIC regarding this, and would wait till i get any answer. Also I am going to call CIC call center tomorrow.
