Hello,
I have 10 years visitor/ tourist visa and visited Canada last December and returned on 4th Jan 18. I am planning to visit again in August for 20 days. Do I need to have any sort of letter from my friend who lives there to avoid any issues? is there anything else I need to have for immigration check?

Thanks
Claire

No - you don't need a letter. Although you should know the address of where you're staying. If asked, you should be able to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds available to pay for your visit to Canada. If you are staying for more than 3 weeks, it may also be a good idea to bring proof of ties to your home country with you (e.g. employment, property ownership) in case officials become concerned you have plans to remain in Canada long term.

Thank you Scylla. I could take below documents with me. Will that be good enough?
My return ticket, proof of fund, hostel booking, travel itinerary, Letter from HR.
