Designated professional bodies
Physicians (NOC 3111 or NOC 3112)
If your primary occupation is specialist physician (NOC 3111) or general practitioner/family physician (NOC 3112), the Medical Council of Canada must do an ECA for your primary medical diploma.

If you have a different primary occupation, another designated organization can do your assessment.
What do you mean by Primary Occupation?
Your primary occupation means the job you have experience in (within the last ten years) and want to base your immigration application on, if you are invited to apply.

I am MBBS from India.i got my degree accessed from MCC and it's clearly stated on CIC website that only MCC wud give ECA for primary Medical degree ie MBBS. And for MD ,they wud just source verify it.For MBBS I got Doctor of Medicine .My MBBS final yr exam passing date was considered as passing date of my degree by MCC and as for internship ,they just source verified it.So I think,if they are source verifying the internship, thn it means they are not considering it as work experience. And moreover during internship,we only get temporary registration but the permanent registration and MBBS degree is only conferred after internship...so according to me internship is not considered as work experience even if it's paid as the pay which we get is not salary,it's stipend..
Hi, I finished MBBS and MD pharmacology from India. Any idea whether MD can be counted as work experience? How is MD verified?

Does MBBS degree should be evaluated by MCC if our NOC code to be related to academic/lecturer? Or WES is enough to receive ITA for Lecturer related NOC?

Wasnt this question asked few days ago?
My answer is still yes, it counts as experience.
Internships are NOT part of the medical degree
I studied medicine for 7 years, was awarded with M.D degree upon completion, before being allowed to start WORKING as an intern.
The 2nd point is WES is not acceptable by cic for assessing medical degrees. The only authorised place to do that is MCC.
Your duties as an intern are those of any other medical doctor, so you are complying with NOC 3112. You are paid for it, and you work more than 40 hours a week.
So yes, you can claim points for that as a work experience.
Good luck
Hey bro you are right...just one question.. in EE profile...for completed academic years I should write 4 years right? (4.5 years academic + 1 year internship) and for the question in work history when you become qualified to practice in this profession would be the year when I passed final MBBS degree right??? please correct me If I am wrong. Thanks. In my MCC ECA certificate, the year of graduation is the year when I completed my Internship.
