Do you qualify to apply for PR if you study for one year program in Ontario

Hi, Please let me know whether you can apply for PR card if you have completed one year of study porgram in Ontario or we need to complete two years of program to apply for PR card. If some one can share related links or info ; will be grateful. This will be helpful to those students who are planning to take admissions with an objective to apply for PR card once they have completed one or two years education. Thanks in advance.

To qualify, you would first need to complete a degree / diploma and then also complete one year of full time skilled work after completing your schooling. You can then apply for PR through the Canadian Experience Class program.

You also qualify to apply through the Ontario Nominee Program if you have completed either your Masters or PhD at a recognized school in Ontario. However only a limited number of applicants are accepted through this stream each year.

Hi,

You can apply just after completing your masters. But this facility is limited to only 1000 applicants per year.

Hi Liz9000, As long are your one year programs is studied full-time at a publicly funded Canadian College and is designated as Post Graduate diploma or certificate programs, then it is eligible under the International student with a job offer stream. Your previous degree must also be a pre-requisite for admission into the one year Post Graduate diploma or Certificate program. If the one year program is not a Post Graduate diploma or Certificate program, then you will require a minimum of 2 year diploma program studied full-time at an eligible publicly funded Canadian College to qualify under the International student with a job offer stream.
