Hello, my wife is currently working for a US company from Canada. She is a daily commuter on US company payroll. She will be moving to US permanently in May 2024. Will she have to pay taxes to Canada for the year 2024 next year since her residency in 2024 will be less than 183 days and also she is getting paid in US. She has no Canadian income.

It sounds like 2024 will be a split year. She may be a resident up to the date she moves, and then not after that

Hire an accountant. Presumably going to the United States because of the higher income .
Hence hire an accountant

Need to both ask CRA to determine her residency status and agree would suggest hiring and accountant. Where you live and what ties she has to Canada will likely determine her residency status.

Residency is not only based on where you live. Contacting CRA to determine your residency status is the best way to determine your tax residency status.
