I am in BC since April 2019 and I have done a 2 year diploma from a DLI College in BC. I have Canadian Experience for 1 year and 7 months as a Software Engineer (TEER 1) and was unfortunately laid off by the employer earlier this year in Feb 2023. Is BC PNP Tech program still an option for me? Or should I go with the CEC program directly?
My Express Entry score is roughly projecting to a low number of 460 to 470.

Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi, there are different streams for BC PNP

Skilled worker: You need two years of experience - You're not eligible.

Healthcare Worker: Not eligible.

International Graduate: You must have accepted a permanent job offer. However since you work in tech you'd qualify for the Tech program, and would only need the job offer to be for one year and have 120 days left by the time you submit the application. Unfortunately not eligible at this time.

Entry Level and Semi-skilled: Not eligible.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the above clarification.
If I get a job when I get one, will I be eligible for BC PNP Tech program considering the offer is at least for 1 year?

The Tech programs isn't a stream itself. You'll still have to qualify for a stream, in your case international graduate, then due to your occupation you can be draw in one of the specific tech draws or in the international graduate draw.

So yes, you need a job offer that lasts at least a year and you should be fine :)
