Do I need to update my closed work permit?

I sent my latest work permit at the time (mid-June) with my application which expired on August 31, 2013. I was at the same time applying for an extension of the work permit, which was granted. The old permit must have been in the mail and I sent my application off before I received it.

New work permit in force: May 31, 2013
Application received: June 27, 2013

I got the AOR. Should I scan the new permit and send to CIC?

Scan the document and email to CPP-O along with all neccessary information for CIC to find and match your application.
Not sure if that's required, but it won't hurt.
