Hi all,

I got my invitation to apply for Permanent Residency after going through Express Entry. I’ve already paid the fee and sent in all my supporting documents - that was in February 2018. Ever since then I’ve just been waiting, the only update after that was submitting my police certificate for my country of residence, which required an official request letter from CIC. That was in March.

My question is, do I still need to keep my current job until I get the PR? If I quit my job now, does that somehow make me less likely to get it? Will CIC require any additional documents from my current employer in the future before the decision is made?

Edit: my country of residence is not Canada, and I wouldn’t be quitting to work somewhere else but just to take a holiday and focus on my own stuff until I get the PR.

Thank you

Canadian job? If so, did you claim points for arranged employment?

If foreign job, feel free to quit your job.
