Do I need to do passport amendments before applying

I lived in US and returned back last year. I am planning to apply for Canada EE.

i. My passport has US address. Do I need to change it.
ii. I am married recently, do I need to update my wife's passport to change her Last name and address as well.

Yes you should change the address.

Better sort out your wifes address and last name in her PP too.
