Hello,
I got a police certificate one year, and three months ago from my back home. At that time, I had been living in Canada for two years, but I had to take a new one because of a job. After that, I did not leave Canada. Do I need to get a new police clearance certificate for my PR process?

Thanks in advance for your answer

Yes usually a recent one is required when submitting an application. Did you got ITA?

Thank you for your answer. Not yet! In this case, Should I request a police clearance certificate from both countries, Canada and my back home?
I was thinking about the TR to PR program; If they want to reopen it again in September, I should have a ready one.
I found the following notice on the IRCC website. Could you explain to me what that means?

Some countries put expiry dates on their police certificates. If you have a police certificate that expired, include it. We’ll accept it if:

  • it was issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row
  • it is not for the country where you currently live

Yes thats a good idea, get it done now.

A.This means PCC of the country where you had lived for more than 6 months but after you had left it.
B. Not for the country where you are presently living.
