I'm from the USA. My husband is working in Canada. I've been here on and off since June. Do I need to extend my stay? Or would I apply for a visitor visa since I was never had one in the first place? Is my last stamp from Canadian immigration where I calculated the six months? I'm so confused.

That means you have gone back to the USA constantly?

If your allowed stay is about to expire yes.

If you hold a USA passport you are not eligible for a TRV.

Yes from there.

Yeah, I've been going back at least once a month. Thank you for the info. This is all so confusing. :D

Yes from there.

So, how would I extend my stay if I'm not eligible for a TRV?

Then you don't have to do anything special.

If you are in Canada without leaving for a period of 6 months, then you would have to file an extension, but as you have been leaving regularly then you are all good.
