Hello members,

I need your help/experience from similar situation /opinion on my mom's visitor visa ! my mom came to Canada on Oct 19, 2019, on a visitor visa, the CBSA agent put an entry date as Oct 19, 2019. After approx 2.5 months later on Dec 30th, 2019 she went to the USA and stayed there till March 2020, She returned to Canada on March 8th, 2020. however, during re-entering to Canada CBSA agent did not stamp her passport. She is intended to stay here till 25 Aug 2020, Now do i need to apply an extension for her visitor visa OR it's not required due to the fact that she entered Canada on March 8th, 2020, and can stay in Canada up to six months?

Thank you in advance!

once the person is in Canada, Visa is not needed. Visa/counterfoild is just for travenling to Canada.
also, the person can apply for an extension with the visa/counterfoild expired

If the visitor visa is expired and the 90days have passed for the restoration period, then there is no way one can apply for any extension.

The validity of the visa is irrelevant.

What matters is when she entered Canada and if the officer put a specific date in her passport.

If no specific date was put in her passport, then she was allowed in for six months.

Again, the validity of the TRV is irrelevant. It could have expired six days from the time she entered Canada or still be valid for another six years. This has nothing to do with how long she is allowed to remain in Canada.
