My name is Yacine. I obtained my permanent resident card in 2008, but it expired. For the past five years, I haven't lived in Canada since leaving in 2005 with my family. It wasn't my decision; it was my family's decision to leave for Canada for family reasons. I was four years old at the time. My questions are simple:
1. Can I renew my card by applying for a PRTD?
2. I'm currently filling out form IMM5444, and there are several questions I don't know the answers to. I shouldn't leave the fields blank, so I'm writing "S.O." (sans objet). However, when I try to save the information, it doesn't save; the fields appear in red. What should I do? Please help me. I need help from anyone who can. This is my WhatsApp number: (+213)549282133 or my e-mail adress:

1. No. You would need to apply for a PRTD with H&C considerations. If that is approved, you would then need to travel to Canada and apply for a PR card once you are in Canada. Also, I don't understand your dates. You say you got PR in 2008 but also say you left Canada in 2005. Is one of these years wrong?
2. You would need to tell us what those fields are.

Yes, I mentioned that 2008 is the expiry date of my Canadian permanent resident card and that I left Canada in 2005. As for the fields, they are the answer fields. There are some questions I can't answer, and when I watched the video explaining how to answer them, I found that I should fill in all the answer fields, even if I don't have an answer, by writing them randomly. However, when I submit the completed application, I can't access it because of this, and it appears in red. I don't understand what the solution is.

What field that you don't have an answer? You can't write them randomly.

You’re in your 20’s . Why all of a sudden do you want to come back to a country you left pre school age , where you’d obviously have no connection whatsoever ?

You can’t say you want to reconnect to a country where you don’t have any connections. And your past being an adult , you should of been thinking about this a few years ago

While I've no personal opinion on this, you should be aware that there are some indications IRCC is being a bit more strict / less lenient about cases refers to as "removed as a minor", i.e. where the child had no say in staying/remaining or not.

Specifically - they seem to look at how soon an applicant in such case applies after reaching age of majority (i.e. becoming an adult), that is, after reaching 18 years of age. Since you left at age four in 2005 and you are now ~25 years of age, it's not promising.

They do seem to look at extent of ties to Canada, which obviously does not play in your favour either, really.

This is not to say you can't apply for the PRTD - but just to be realistic about how high the chances of approval are.

In response to your initial question "Do I have a right to a PRTD", the blunt answer is no, you don't. As you are not in compliance with residency obligation and have not been in Canada within the last 13 months, IRCC is not obligated to provide you a PRTD. I'd also suggest that, if you do intend to return to Canada (you're still a PR regardless of what the PR card expiry is), that you A) consult an immigration lawyer prior to submitting your application for a PRTD, so that you are prepared and can respond (if that's your desire) to a refusal in a timely manner and B) be fully prepared to remain in Canada for the full 2 years to meet RO when you do return. As noted by @armoured, you chances of success aren't promising. You need to be fully committed and fully prepared for the outcomes that you are very likely to encounter.

I don't know how to renew my Canadian residence permit.

Do you mean your PR card?

Do you have a US visa or you can go to US without visa? If so, you can try enter Canada by road and then explain your situation to the border officers.
