I am not looking to do something illegal , just need some info with regards to how CIC and CRA share info about our tax returns ?

Do they find out from CRA about our income and get to know how much we worked and get an estimate of weekly income and see about the 20 hour rule ?

Yes, they do.

IRCC (CIC is the old name) will check with CRA to see whether there are any records of you working that you haven't disclosed, or if you've violated any rules.

How do they check the 20 hour rule ?

What about if someone is self employed like Skip or UberEats ?

Skip and Uber both report what they remit to their partners. If there is any data that is inconsistent, that will be evident. IRCC can then ask Skip/Uber to provide a log of your “online” time to determine how many hours you worked. Not sure who told you that these companies do not report income tax. They do as they are corporations.

You say you do not want to do anything illegal. Working over 20 hours a week as an international student is a violation of your visa rules and is therefore against the law. You will get caught.

If you work illegally, and get caught, you can get deported and possibly banned for life.

As with all things, if you don't get caught, then nothing much happens.

However, you can get caught even years later, even after you become a citizen - and they can take away your citizenship and then deport you.
