Do CIC check tax history?

Hi,

I'm currently going through four years of Canadian tax history and will be submitting taxes soon (I've been paying taxes in the UK). However, I accepted my invitation last week.

Will Canadian Immigration check my tax history to see if I have sent tax returns to the CRA?

It looks like they do for citizenship; do they do this for PR?

From what I have read, it seems CIC don't check tax records unless you go through Provincial Nomination in Ontario.

My accountants still haven't finished working on my taxes :S
