Hi, I am a Canadian citizen living outside of Canada. I am trying to sponsor my spouse for permanent residency. She also lives outside of Canada. We both live in the USA. I know she will need a police clearance letter. My question is, do I need a police clearance letter too? I am a citizen of Canada.

We are about to submit the application for PR.. Please help. Thanks so much!

No, you only need what is in the sponsor section of the document checklist.

Thank you so much for answering. Can anyone else please confirm this?

Thanks
No need to confirm. The sponsor does not need to provide a police clearance. Just follow the document checklist.

The reason I was asking is because the checklist says: Include for yourself and each of your family members, proof of completion of the upfront medical examination from the Panel Physician

I am confused because I thought I am a family member? Do they mean for family members that are not Canadian citizens?

It doesn't apply if you're the sponsor. They mean family members other than the sponsor. This bit confused me a little at first too. You also don't need to include a PCC/medical for non-accompanying family members of the applicant. I find the wording can be a little vague in some areas of the application.
