DL Exchange Valid US + India

I recently moved to Toronto from US, i have a valid 5 year old US License and a 11 year old india license. I know i can exchange the US license for full G license easily but i also want to make sure india driving experience is considered to get a better car insurance rate. Anyone been in same situation as mine? Will i be able to ask credits for India driving experience if i get my DL extract from indian RTO. Thanks

I also have a related question. i temporarily imported my car while entering canada as a temporary foreign worker. Till how long i can drive in ontario with US number plate and US insurance.
