Hello
My husband lives in India and we have been married since 2014. I sponsored him for PR in August 2021, he received his Ready for visa email few days ago. He has not submitted his passport because he is out of city for work.
But the things are not going well between us.
My question is if I file for a divorce, what will happen to his application?

Thank you

If you are no longer together, then you should contact IRCC and withdraw your sponsorship.

Keep in mind that if you don't notify IRCC and he gets his visa and becomes a PR, you will be financially responsible for him for the next three years. This will apply even if you get divorced.

If you are going to get divorced, I would personally withdraw the application asap to avoid creating any financial risks to you personally. Just my two cents of course...

Thanks for the advice , I really appreciate it.
Is it possible for me to withdraw the file , even if it's approved as he got his Ready for visa email?

Yes. Definitely possible. I would do it as soon as possible. Technically you can do it until landing. But I wouldn't wait.
