@ayaz brother....I aprreciate it....:)

My overall GPA is 2.71 that makes about 71.5 % and the Canadian requirement for Admission to master's program is 65 %(mostly). But I had one failure and poor grades in some courses throughout my engineering. Does this discourage me from applying OR Do I Have chances of admission To any engineering program ???

Secondary school: 77 %
Higher secondary school: 75 %
BS in electrical engineering: 2.71/4 (71.49 %) - Absolute grading(not relative)

6 months work experience in motorola saudi arabia (still working)

IELTS: 6.5

Also I had one failure throughout my Engineering Degree and some low grades. Does that discourage me from applying to M.Eng program to Canadian Universities ???

Majid I'm not sure how you are calculating your numbers.

Let me tell you how a Canadian university handles foreign GPA scores, since I've recently gone through 5 diff admissions.

2.71 is taken on its absolute value, and divided by an absolute 4 or 4.0

2.71/4.0 is 67.7%
I have no clue how you are getting 71. If your going by your university set standards, they will not be acknowledged during the Canadian admission process.

Don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise. Contact as many unis as you can, be honest about your profile and see what they say. Tier 3 and 4 universities will be willing to overlook your gpa, they need the money after all.

This is a pretty good profile.
You can get in Ryerson, Winsdor and York University for sure.

@echelon99

Well I think that is due to the grading system of my university, 2.7 GPA is equivalent to 70 % in my university. And I am from Pakistan and what I have seen at the univesity websites is that there is an international student criteria, where the requirement for Pakistan is mostly 70 % average overall. And I satisfy the minimum requirement.
