Hi everyone,
I am planning on sponsoring my wife from South Africa. My friend told me that I should just go to a settlement worker at the YMCA in the city, but I have also heard that settlement workers have limitations on what they can do for you (filling out forms, submitting application, etc) and what they can advise on. More generally, I am concerned about their knowledge of immigration law (they are settlement workers, after all, which seems to speak more to what happens after you immigrate and are landed in Canada).
So I am hoping someone can elaborate on the limitations of settlement workers: what can they do? what can't they do? I basically want someone to handle my entire application and am wondering what the best choice is.
Thanks in advance.
