Hey everyone,

First of all thanks for your time for reading and answering this.
I am preparing for a masters in Canada but I have ran into a problem. All of my transcripts have my surname field as blank but when I went to the passport office, they said it's necessary to have a surname in my passport.
My name in transcripts is written as Bilal Ahmed with the surname left blank while in the passport it will appear as:-
Given Name: Bilal
Surname: Ahmed
My question is how much of a problem would this cause when applying for Visa and what can I do to solve this issue? Would a same name affidavit work here?

An affidavit can work here.
