Did my 6 months reset when I re-entered Canada by land?

Hi! I’m currently in Canada as a visitor. When I first entered Canada, I was told I could stay until Dec 2nd. (the regular 6 months)

I recently went to the US and then re-entered Canada by land (all in one day). The border officer checked my passport but didn’t stamp it or give me any paperwork.

I was hoping to stay in Canada through the holidays, so I’m wondering: does the 6 month visitor period reset when you re-enter Canada, or does my original December 2nd date still apply?

How can I confirm what my current authorized stay is?

The re-entry restarted the 6 month (182 day) clock.

You could make a request for your entry record from CBSA, showing that you last entered Canada on [insert date here].
