I have had a permanent full-time job (35 hr/wk) since June 2024, but I was working part-time before that from July 2022 to June 2024. My hours were not consistent, but if I count the hours altogether, I worked an average of 33 hr/wk.

From July to August 2022, the hours weren't great, and I worked an average of 24 hr/wk. From Sep 2022 onwards, I started getting consistent hours, and I worked an average of 34 hr/wk, working at least 30 hours most weeks. This is all explained in the letter of employment provided by my employer.

I created my EE profile on August 30, 2023, when I had completed 1,560 hours in 12 months, and had worked at least 30 hr/wk for a year. But as the actual hours worked were 33 hr/wk, I wrote "33" under "Hours per week" on my EE profile. As there is no way to show or explain the variance in hours worked, I figured I would go with this average.

However, since I began work in July 2022, my EE profile counts a year of work from July to June. So, this June 2025, my CRS went up to 510 (having worked for three years). I am worried that this is misrepresentation, as I technically finished my first year of work in August 2023. (Though it seems unlikely that CEC cut-off scores will drop that low for the next draw, I don't want to risk getting an ITA based on misrepresentation.)

So, I have two questions:
  1. Was it wrong to calculate the total average, and is there another way I should be calculating hours worked per week?
  2. I thought that I am meant to show the actual hours per week, as opposed to hours counted towards PR. Should I have counted the hours without exceeding 30 hr/wk? In that case, I worked an average of 28 hr/wk from July 2022 to June 2024. Is this the number that should go on my EE profile? (This question also extends to my current job. Though I work 35 hr/wk, should it be "30" instead of "35"?)
