When they stamp the Visa ECAS goes to Decision Made, that is another way to know your passport is on its way back
This may not necessarily be the case. I received PPR and my E-CAS was updated to 'Decision Made' in 4-5 days after that. I submitted my documents at Detroit only after another 3 weeks. So the 'Decision Made' in E-CAS is not always tied to Visa stamping and depends on the VO processing the file, I'd think.

There have been a few who sent in the first week of december, thats why I think you should expect them back soon. Are you planning to land through flagpoling or a local CIC office?

i would prefer to land at a local office but then it would take 6-8 weeks for the next available appointment, so id go to the border instead. i have a friend who landed at the Canadian border at Coutts yesterday and he said it was pretty quick. i wouldnt mind driving 7 hrs away if i could have it done as soon as possible. im just worried of the icy road, i hope weather will cooperate with me when i land lol

Here's my timeline for getting my passport back from Detroit:
- Mailed passport on November 21 (by FedEx via Canadapost)
- Passport was delivered to Detroit on November 26
- eCAS showed "Decision Made" on December 3
- Received my passport on December 12 (it was indeed a lucky day for me!)

In total, it took 16 days from the day my passport was received in Detroit to when I received it back. I hope this gives you a general idea of timeline.

I landed on December 16 at Peace Bridge in Fort Erie. The journey is finally over for me. Best of luck to everyone!!

My reply envelope went live last Tuesday and I collected it from the mail depot on Thursday. I'm visa exempt so it was just a copy of my passport that i sent and it was all returned with a COPR enclosed. Happy days!
I drove to the Peace Arch crossing on Friday and flagpoled. Took about 2 and a half hours because the wait times were kind of long. Once it was my turn though, it was relatively quick and easy. They asked me the basic questions about having dependants or committing any crimes etc (no to both) and then confirmed my address and that was it. Congratulations I'm a PR. My PR card will arrive in 6-8 weeks and until then I can't really travel out of the country on a commercial carrier. The COPR is fine for a private vehicle though. Hadn't known that previously.
After that I went and got my new SIN number.

I spent most of my day lining up and waiting for my turn. But it was a good day.
