Hello everyone,

I’m new to this forum. I currently live in the UK but I would like to move back to Canada. I have lived there for 2 years but my family got deported. My question is do I still need an ARC even if I was a child (9yrs) when we got deported?
Thank you in advance for your reply

You may not have to apply for ARC. Check the deportation order you may not have been named there.

In any case since you were less than 10 at the time nobody will hold that against you even if you fail to mention it because how would have you understood what was going on at the time or even remember it as an adult.

the requirement for an ARC only comes up during the processing of an application not before so if IRCC want one they will ask regardless of how old an applicant happened to be at the time. Unfortunately with deportations the whole family suffers in any future dealings with immigration regardless, all are considered guilty

Worth checking if after all this time named on the order but doesn’t change the fact was deported as part of a family deportation at the time, just as a minor not in control of that so not so guilty to IRCc
