Dependent file query

I have applied under CEC and my estimated closing date is January 19 2020.Currently, my boyfriend is in India. If I go to india now and marry him while my file is processing ?? If I do that can I add him on my file as a dependent while it’s processing so that mine and his PR will be issued together or should I wait till my file is closed?

You can marry and add him. Ensure that you follow the customary marriage rites, not just a court marriage.

So if I marry him do I have to file a separate application for him or I have to call CIC to find out how to add him?I’m just worried what if By adding him my crs points will decrease and I‘ll have to wait to get ITA again. Do you think i’ll have any problem if I get married before my PR?

You have to add him. Your points will not be recalculated and you will not need another ITA.

you can add him as your dependent by sending a webform and informing CIC about your marriage. They will send you the forms amd additional documents that you need to provide. Your spouse will have to undergo medicals and PCCs.
