@Dependent child,@Hero2026Hi All,
I am in Process of Sponsoring PR for my new born, and kid is outside canada born and myself and wife is already PR a year ago.
So while filing a Sponsoring application I need to fill IMM5604 for declaration from Non-Accompanying parent/guardian for minors immigrating to Canada.
My spouse is outside canada at the moment with my new born and she can’t be co-signer on IMM1344e
Could someone help me to clarify as who needs to fill this form is it my wife or I need to fill this?

Thank you @vivekdelhiHello
The spouse/s who are not inside Canada need to fill IMM5604.
SInce you both are PRs and your wife is outside Canada, she CAN legally and technically become a co-signor but i would suggest to skip that and instead you being in Canada(assuming that you are inside Canada) should be sponsoring. No need of her becoming a co-signor. There are caselaws decided at IRB for what i said above regarding your wife being a co-signor. I practice law here in Canada and awaiting my Child PR sponsorship as well. Though nothing mentioned here is a legal advice.
Hope, it helps.
Thanks
For my Daughter, Application sent Jan.12.2026, there is no AOR yetAny idea about which dates are receiving AORs? Applied for my child's sponsorship, US Citizen but the child is living in Canada with us.
Hope that you hear something soon. Did you try to reach out to IRCC? I mean it is more than 3 months now on your case and no AOR yet. What's the nationality of the child? I hope the visa office doesn't be the driving factor. In some posts I was reading that there is no inlant processing of the child. Child is always processed outland even if the child is inside Canada.For my Daughter, Application sent Jan.12.2026, there is no AOR yet
