Dear All

I being Permanent resident filed an application for sponsorship of my child (in Mississauga) who was born outside Canada.

During process, I had to leave Canada to Pakistan. I received letter from CPC where they declared by ineligibility as I was not in Canada. However, they stated that final decision lies with the visa officer and they are forwarding my file to High Commission, Islamabad.

The total time period stated by High Commission, Islamabad is nine months and decision is expected in September 2010.

I need your guidance that:

1) If I move to Canada and show my residency; is there any chance that my decision will be positive which is expected in September 2010.

2) Is there any possibility that I can file a new sponsorship application in May 2010 where CPC can re-evaluate my eligibility while my application is still in process in high commission in Islamabad?

Regards

As a PR, you MUST reside in Canada during the total processing of your application in order to be eligible. My advice would be to withdraw the current application, move back to Canada, reapply and STAY in Canada until a decision has been made. Others may have a different opinion.
