Dependent Child for a PR application

I applied for a Refugee claim in June 2018 when one of my kids was 19 and the other one was 17. I recently received a Positive NOD and now I'm trying to figure out if my kids still fall under the definition of "dependent" per the IRCC website "We assess your child’s eligibility as a dependant based on how old they were at a specific point in time, called the lock-in date. To see if your child qualifies as a dependant, we consider the age of your child on the lock-in date, even though your child’s age may change during processing.

To find out if your child qualifies as your dependant, check the age of your child at the time we or the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) received your refugee claim. This is your child’s lock-in date."

Is the lock-in date the date I made the refugee claim in 2018 or is it the date I will submit the PR application?

Is the lock-in date the date I made the refugee claim in 2018 or is it the date I will submit the PR application?

Did you only just get NOD for your asylum application submitted in 2018? Was this an appeal? JR? How old was your child in 2018? Are they married?

After my first negative decision in 2020. I submitted an appeal and RAD accepted the appeal but referred the case back to RPD for a second hearing, which was done just in December 2022 and was positive. Children ages are mentioned (19 and 17 years old in 2018). None of them are married.

Will leave someone else to confirm that it isn’t considered a new application since it was returned for a 2nd hearing. I think you should still be able to consider the lock-in date as 2018. Is your child currently married?

Nope none of them are married. Yeah that's why I'm confused its been so long now and I just want to confirm before I pay the fees.

I am pretty sure your lock in date is when you made your refugee claim.

2018 is your lock-in.
