Hi there all
I have an urgent question, If a dependant child of the principal applicant who has already been issued Immigration Visa along with his family has a change in status from married to divorced within a period of weeks (no children, exwife was mentally retarded so marriage was terminated). He and his family havent done their landing in Canada yet. Is it still possible for the divorced child to acquire PR status on landing along with his parents?

Will informing CIC terminate his immigration? Or can he still qualify as a dependant?

Please let me know asap

A child who is married is no longer a dependent for immigration purposes and cannot use the immigration visa to land. Divorce changes nothing about this situation.

Okay so what should be done in this case? Can his parents sponsor him separately again?

1. No, he has to apply on his own.
