Per the website, it can take longer in some circumstances. :(

I would think the more behind they get with PR, sponsorship, and citizenship apps, the more requests they get and then they get a little behind on those too.

Yep I ordered July 27th and haven't got mine yet. But as above said they may take longer than 30 days.

We requested ours June 3rd. ATIP finally contacted us admitting they were very late, they didn't have an excuse, and they would pass them on when they can. Let's see what happens come 90 days after ordering them. I wonder if I could get a refund...

In the meantime, my husband heard from Ottawa, provided additional proof, got his COPR, and landed. So they won't tell me anything I don't know at this point!

I applied my notes on July 3rd and received them on August 22nd.
They admitted in an email that they are late because of large volume of requests.

They have to find a way to break the current cycle. They requested additional docs from us back in March. After telling me "soon" and "call back in 2 weeks", I finally found out they weren't even opened until July 27th. Which makes no sense because that was a Sunday. So I don't know if that's another lie or what. But they need something to help break this cycle because it's only going to get worse. And for now Outland is speedy (for US citizens) but as many people are pulling out of Inland and filing Outland, that's going to get backed up too.

And the more backed up they get the more GCMS noted requests they will receive. It's a cycle that's destined to end poorly.

try ordering the privacy act notes, if you even care at this point. took 30 days to get them, and it had information on both the applicant AND sponsor info, as well as the complete notes from the officer about our relationship.

was that under privacy act or access to info act ($5.00) ?

I am guessing that the Access to Info act requests are the one that are delayed...?

not sure why some are delayed, and others aren't... Maybe due to the way the various offices are managed in regard to actual note taking, or how the notes are uploaded to the ATIP server/responders that deal with our request...

Access to Information act is what we requested. The Privacy Act requires this as quoted, "Note: If you are submitting a request under the Privacy Act for information belonging to someone else, the individual to whom the information belongs must also be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or currently living in Canada." Just requested our 3rd set in hopes to at least see the updates that I sent (via Case Specific) over a month ago, but didn't show up on our recent GCMS notes.

access to info is the $5 one. yes, the access to info act is the category that is delayed because there is a significant increase in requests. i even saw a job posting on the canadian job bank looking for people to process ATIP requests! (btw, these people make a lot of $$$) understaffing + increase in requests = significant delays.

i acidentally ordered the privacy act notes, and got a full set with all info about sponsor and applicant, including notes about our relationship. got them in 30 days.

So with this quote from the ATIP portal, "Note: If you are submitting a request under the Privacy Act for information belonging to someone else, the individual to whom the information belongs must also be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or currently living in Canada." - how did you get them? I thought you, the requester, also had to be a Citizen or PR...The CIC wording here is a bit ambiguous (as usual..) Must be a unique situation... or maybe just a matter of perspective ;)

Again, I paid the $5 for our notes via the Information Act category, and have twice received them in exactly 30 days. The notes at least seem like they are fully disclosed, but I can't be sure. Does seem some offices are certainly delivering on the 30 day promise, though at the same time very little else (in our case)

Just got mine today and it was a waste of time. looks like our app is collecting dust at the Sydney VO. Nah I know they are working on it... but nothing of value in the notes.

my husband was the one that ordered them, and he is a canadian citizen, living in canada. i was in canada as a visitor when we ordered them, though I don't remember having to disclose that information when we applied for it. we submitted a consent form to release my info.
