delayed tax return - over a year

Hi all,

I have filed my taxes in 2016 before the deadline in april, for the first time in Canada. It's been already more than a year and still didn't return anything from CRA and the processing is in progress. I was asked to send additional documents, including work permit etc. and since then haven't heard back. I have made hundreds of calls and everytime I called I was given different processing deadlines.
What should I do?
