Delay in getting Visa? Where does the fault lie?

A lot of dust is being raised in the form of rumours, hear-says, spam messages and in whatever varieties one can think of – on the subject of getting visas and the delay in processing.

a. One way of submitting the visa application is through the applicant’s own effort and initiative – without getting any third party involved. In this case, the applicant would definitely have gone thru the whole stuff in CIC website and understood the contents, including the time taken for processing.

b. Another way of submitting the visa application is through the Consultant or Lawyer duly appointed by the Applicant. In this method, the Applicant blindly believes the wordings or oral statements made by the Consultant or Lawyer, including the time taken for processing.

I am not aware as to whether there are any other forms of visa papers submission.

However, in both the above cases, the Applicant is made aware of the time taken.

In the first instance, the Applicant knowingly knowing the time taken submits his papers and waits for ‘it’ to happen – even if the applicant has to concede a couple of more months. No confusion (including the period for processing) should arise in this case since all the terms and conditions have been duly noted.

In this instance, in case of any doubt including delays, the applicant has full right to write to the authority and get it cleared.

In the second instance, the Applicant initially gets to know the time taken thru the ‘sweet’ words or oral statements of the Consultant or Lawyer. Hence, the fault or confusion or losing one’s patience or what not mostly should arise only from this end.

In this instance, the applicant only has to depend on his Consultant or Lawyer to get the doubts cleared thereby leaving them stranded or lose confidence level and also giving them a feeling of ‘left off’ or ‘grounded’. This is presumably because of the tailor-made promises made to each applicant knowing their background and depending on their capacity to pay. No one else has a say on this.

So, please take appropriate steps, including escalation, and get the air cleared at your end, rather than read and participate in researching on ‘spam messages’ and staying with ‘reduced confidence levels’ or leaving your ‘skilled’ controls to a third party.

Best of Luck!!!

It's been 21 months for my application. That is 6 months longer than the processing time stated when the application was sent.
