Good day Guys,

I have an inquiry about the definition of the foreign skilled work experience applicable to calculating the skill transferability factors of EE CRS. In fact, I'm about to study in Canada to have the diploma of motive power technician but I had a different kind of job in my country.

So, can my previous career be counted in a period of the foreign skilled work experience?

Please advise.

Your job does not need to be related to your education (past, current or future).

Your foreign work experience can be counted provided it was paid, at least 12 months of full time work (or part-time equivalent) and in a skilled occupation (NOC classes 0, A or B). It cannot be older than 10 years though.

Really thanks for your well-defined reply.

If possible, could you please review what kind of NOC code can be applicable to my previous work?

I was in charge of a guarantee claim handling manager of huge ships built and delivered from a shipyard where I had worked for 5 years. Mainly, it was technically reviewed what problems are on ships, what services need to be established and how we can finalize the claims raised by each ship owner. After then, we dispatched service teams to carry out necessary repairs, and if required in special cases, accompanying with the team in order to supervise and manage that repair works.

The above is a brief outline of what I did in that company.

It would be my great appreciation if you can advise once again.

Sorry, but you are the best person to decide on your NOC. Please search for NOCs here using your job title or related job titles:

You can also send an email to this address, mentioning your job title and duties and responsibilities:

They will reply with the most appropriate NOC, but you should still review it and verify it is suitable.

Really thanks for your guidance. I'm going to make an inquiry through that e-mail address.

have a nice day.
