What happens at POE if I arrive a year after my study permit is issued? I know I will have to get my medicals again, but is there any chance they will deny my entry because of deferring a year?
I received my study permit on Friday Aug. 23rd (and it is valid through Nov. 2021). My classes start from Sept. 5th. I also applied for my spouses open work permit and it is still in processing for the last 15 weeks. Our goal was to go together, but it doesn't look possible. I've already contacted my university and they said I can defer until Jan. or Sept. 2020 intake, it is my choice. I'm thinking about deferring until Sept. 2020 to give time for the transition (for myself and my business), visit family in the US and hopefully get my spouses open work permit before then.
They didn't leave me much time by giving my permit less than two weeks before I start classes and missing all of the orientations. Never thought it would take over 14 weeks to get it!
