Hi,

I deferred my admission from may to September 2017 as there was a delay in my visa processing. I got my visa approved after course started in May. I am going to travel to Canada with my visa approved in May with the new offer letter from university. Will I face any problem in getting study permit?

Probably not. However, you might need to extend your study permit later on because they will probably give you the original time frame of your study.
I had a friend with the same situation and there is no problem. From September to January. Next school term.
