Deferral is a normal thing for study permit applicants? Even after receiving AIP?

Hi. I just want to ask since a lot of people have opinions on this. Will the deferral of fall intake to winter intake after receiving an AIP have a negative or no effect on your application?? Because I’ve seen a lot of forums which stated that deferral is normal and just extent your study permit afterwards.

But some also are saying that it will be negative since you didn’t start online classes and that this means you’re not a genuine student. I’m here to ask your insights regarding this matter. Thank you

I am in the same boat. Confused whether I should start the class online or defer.
Waiting for other people to respond.

Ok. I do not think deferring would have negative impact on your application. People are having 1000 of genuine reasons to do so, that visa office also understands.

They say that refusal in stage 2 will occur for below reasons:
  1. Medical issue
  2. Biometric issue
  3. PCC
  4. Fake documents
If they deny for any other reason, then its unfair, if they do opposite of what they communicated. Its getting suspenseful :D
