hi everyone, just want to know ur insights with regards to declaring ur status from single to being married, been two weeks now here in toronto. My history was, I landed last April 26 2012 in Toronto as single with PRC, worked for couple of months and returned back to my country in September 2012 and got married with my fiancee. I just came back two weeks ago and I was wondering what are the steps for declaring that im married now. THank you so much in advance.

You file for sponsorship so your spouse can get PR too, see http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/family-class-sponsorship-b5.0/

THanks Leon, my follow up question is that i dont have work right now and im going to study a refresher course for nursing in jan 2013, and also im reviewing right now for my IELTs exam as one of my requirements in my profession. Can i apply for sponsorship without having a job? My plan is to sponsor her once i passed my RPN exam on jan 9 2013 and get registered with CNO. Im just curious if they will they take it against me if I dont declare that Im married and postponed my application for sponsorship to my wife. Thanks a lot Leon

Since you were already a PR when you got married, you do not have to notify anybody. You do not have to show a certain income to sponsor your spouse but you do have to prove that you have a genuine relationship. Waiting for a long time to sponsor your spouse could be interpreted by immigration as a sign of it not being a genuine relationship because if you love your spouse, you would want to be together as soon as possible.
