Hello, I am American, immigrating to Quebec on a Permanent Residence visa through Family Class sponsorship. My husband and I applied in December 3, 2012. He was approved to sponsor me December 12, 2012 (medicals were done prior to applying- we used a lawyer - so they were done Nov. 19, 2012). Our file changed to decision made August 20, 2013 and we (our lawyer) have still not received our letter in the mail.

My question is, how long does it typically take to get this? Our lawyer has told me that it's anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks, I read online it's 5-12 business days (which follows the 2 - 4 weeks) but I am seeing other people receive their decision letters in the mail within the week their file changes to decision made. I feel like we should have received SOMETHING by now.... or am I just being impatient? :-\ ???

2 to 3 weeks should be about right, unless there is something specific with your file, but your COPR should be on its way to your lawyer pretty soon. If you haven't received anything by middle of next week, contact your VO and ask when the document was sent - so it will give you an idea.

The VO are not very consistent, so don't stress too much - easier said than done of course. Your wait should be almost over, and the COPR is most likely on its way!
Good luck for the last stretch,
