Hi everyone! So I'm a naturalized Canadian citizen originally from Fiji. Early this year, I submitted a sponsorship application for my wife who currently resides in Fiji where as I reside in Canada. I submitted her application as an "outland application" and as of November 8th, 2016, her status on the CIC application status website changed to "Decision Made" from "In Process". Below is an excerpt of the messages receaved from Sydney, Australia consulate processing my wife's application:

 • We received your application for permanent residence on April 29, 2016.
 • We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on June 23, 2016.
 • We started processing your application on June 23, 2016.

 • We sent you correspondence on September 27, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
 • Medical results have been received.

My questions regards the last bullet point - highlighted text above. I havent yet received an email from them regarding this which is unusual as all correspondence to date has been through email. Do you guys know what this means. Will they be sending me an email soon? Or have they sent a letter in the mail requesting her to send her passports over to Sydney as Fiji is a non-visa exempt country? Any help guys would be much Appreciated.

Cheers,
Aaron from Calgary

Hi Aaron!

Wow nice to see a another Fijian on the forum :). Anyways have you checked your spam inbox? Sometime it does that. And well CIC usually communicates through email if they need anything so I don't think they would mail out anything except if they are sending back your passport with visa.

You should try can contact the immigration office in Sydney. How did they send the MR in the first place?

did the applicant receive a passport request? if the passport request wasn't received the "correspondence" they are referring to may be the passport request, which would be sent by email to the applicant.

my recommendation is to a) order the GCMS notes to see what "correspondence" is being referred to, and b) keep an eye out in the applicant's email. the gmsc notes take 30 days to process, so they may not prove helpful to you - it's just a good back up in case nothing comes within that time.

if the applicant hasn't received ANYTHING from CIC after 4 weeks from the date on ECAS, then call cic or send a case specific enquiry online to notify them nothing has been received.
