Wow, sorry to hear.

By chance, LPP is now finally complete for us. Got the tracker updates today, with a completion date of May 14. Almost at the finish line…..

Hoping you have better luck soon.
Congrats, have you received finger print request, and what's your office please ?

Can I get educated about the procedure after LPP cleared? Also when do we need guarantor signatures?
After LPP, you will get invited to take the oath ceremony. The timeline on that is anyone's guess at this point. You do not need any guarantor signature in the citizenship process. However, when you are applying for the Canadian passport, a guarantor is required.

Your main office is not Vancouver that’s why it’s faster….
You're almost done! Just the final setup remains, and your oath ceremony will be scheduled soon.
Oath ceremonies are organized by local offices, not by the processing office. In your case, it’s the IRCC office responsible for your province or city.
As a friend of mine—a former immigration law professor at a university—explained to me, several factors influence how oath ceremonies are scheduled:
- Low attendance? They may hold virtual ceremonies, inviting applicants from different locations.
- High demand? They need to ensure enough judges and staff are available for consecutive ceremonies.
When I applied, I kept my expectations low to avoid unnecessary stress though I made sure to stay on top of everything to avoid missing any steps.
Remember, every case is unique, and you can’t compare them directly.

thanks so much!
I would think it will be Niagara office then, which is equally slow, lol

thanks so much, I see ppl mention about a e-certificate, what that is used for?

Same exact position except that instead of BG completed, language completed here, no updates since April 11, 2025, had to be in an in-person interview on April 9, 2025. Have been living outside the Canada after submitting the application as well. Did you get some notes or call IRCC?
Hello. What was the interview about could guide me what questions were asked? Did they ask if you were abroad and why and if you will be back?

I havnt asked for noted just called IRCC half a month aho they saodnit all looks normal so far?

Your citizenship certificate. Depending on which option you selected when you submitted the application you will either get an electronic version (e-certificate) or a physical one in the mail. The physical one will take much longer to get.

And other than the original being a file, there's no difference. Whenever needed, you can just print it out. If you want to get a nice one printed out by someone and frame it or whatever, go to a UPS shop or any printer.

(Personally I think the new physical ones are identical in use to the e-certificates, but not 100% demonstrated yet).

Hi all. I applied for citizenship in December 2024. Here's my timelines:

Dec 20 2024: Application filed
Jan 14 2025: Background verification complete
Feb 12 2025: Citizenship test request
Feb 18 2025: Citizenship test scheduled
Mar 20 2025: Citizenship test complete
May 14 2025: Prohibitions, Physical Presence, and Language Skills complete
May 16 2025: Received an email about downloading my Citizenship cert

Q: I tried to download the cert but it said I need to wait until I sign the oath. How do I schedule the oath/ceremony? Thanks!

You don't need to schedule anything — you'll be invited to the oath ceremony. Since they've already sent you instructions on how to download your citizenship certificate, I assume the invitation is on its way.
By the way, congratulations and all the best!
