Background, Prohibition and Physical Presence - in progress

Haven't had any updates since April 11, 2025, any reason why this is taking longer?
similar situation, background hasnt' been done yet, do you know why you were called for an interview? I haven't received any updates since march 16th. nor request for fingerprints or interview. Can you also share what was asked in the interview.

Was able to download my e-certificate this morning (less than 24 hours after oath ceremony). I had to email Help Desk about link / invite etc, but I either received a really quick response (20 mins) or it came automatically (and coincidentally right when I asked about it). So all done, good luck and fast processing to all who are still waiting and thanks to everyone who reads and contributes to this forum, your support and experiences helped make this a less stressful occasion. Four and a half months from submission to citizenship. 140 days.

Personally I strongly doubt anything gets even opened in 20 mins - so more likely it was going out to you anyway - but not impossible.

At any rate, all's well that ends well, and congratulations.

I didnt receive oath invitation email but received the following survey from IRCC -

immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is conducting a survey to gather feedback on the experiences and opinions of participants in Canada’s three federal high-skilled economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Workers, Federal Skilled Trades, and the Canadian Experience Class. You have been selected for this survey because our records show that you were a Principal Applicant who became a permanent resident in Canada through one of these programs between 2014 and 2024. If you are an agent or representative for the intended recipient, please ignore this e-mail.

The information collected through this survey will help IRCC identify the program’s strengths and challenges, allowing us to make improvements for future participants.

About the survey:

The survey will remain open until 16 June, 2025 and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Your participation is voluntary, and your answers will be kept confidential. Your decision to participate or not will not affect any previous or future immigration processes.
Your survey responses will be combined with information you previously provided to IRCC on your application, and will be grouped with answers from other survey participants for reporting purposes so that individual survey participants cannot be identified.
IRCC has posted a notice on our website confirming the survey's authenticity: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/client-surveys.html.
This survey link is personalized and unique to you – please do not forward this link to others. If you leave the survey before completion, your answers will be saved. You can always return to the survey by clicking on the link provided below.
The survey is available in English and French.

Is this legit?

Is this legit?
They seem to do quite a lot of surveys recently - got one yesterday for the citizenship app portal and all that.

As a rule of thumb: if the originating email is *.gc.ca , and has the english/french duality almost all govt emails have, it should be legit.

BUT:
-make sure you look at the actual email address (with the dots and the @ etc), not the 'name' part.
-if you're concerned, you can copy the link address and open in a browser private window.
-the govt ones do NOT ask for any identity specific personal info, logins, or anything of the sort. (They may ask for non-specific info like your demographics - age, sex, ethnicity, language prefs, things like that - and I think all or most of these fields allow answers like 'prefer not to say').

It's not obligatory, of course - don't feel like answering, then don't.

Got an in-person oath invite today, May 22, for a June 3 ceremony. The tracker showed this update since May 20. Scarborough office.

I do have a work trip scheduled from June 1-5, but I’m considering canceling it at this point as I’m a bit wary of trying to reschedule. Who knows when I would get a new date…I want to get this whole process over and done with.

Out of all the possible windows that the IRCC could have chosen…

I haven’t heard anything since April 12. I’ve seen in other comments that once the LPP is approved, the oath ceremony follows fairly quickly.

I’m not sure if it’s because of my two children’s applications (ages 11 and 9). For them, the tracker shows “Language Skills,” “Background,” and “Physical Presence” as in progress (but as far as I know, these shouldn’t even have started for minors). So far, only the prohibitions check is completed, and of course the citizenship test shows as "not started".

I'm on the same boat - LPP got approved on April 15 and no update since. My assumption on when we will get the oath invite is that it depends on the capacity of the corresponding oath office (I'm based in montreal, and my test and oath office is the Montreal office, which is relatively slow).

Well, I'm in Longueuil, so guess we are really in the same boat

Hahah I’d give you an air high five!
I’ve checked the threads and found out the duration from LPP to oath takes about 2 months. But I wish I know how Montreal office is thinking coz I saw a January applicant (technically Feb as this person’s aor is in Feb) got the oath ceremony on June 12
