Hello Everyone!

After 10 months and 18 days (318 days) I finally got the status "Decision made" and a Pre-arrival letter! Let's hope that the PPR will come soon ☺

PS. I am currently visiting my husband in Canada, so I guess I have to go back to Poland to submit my passport ... I hope flights will be available during this crazy COVID period.
Congratz, you are so lucky.

Quick question, how did you check your status online? I couldn't login to mycic account since yesterday

Thank you! I can't believe it to be honest!

I checked through Client Application Status (CAS). On my GCKey account I have only the pre-arrival letter.

Hello everyone, my wife submitted her passport for reissue (to add my name in the spouse's name entry in the passport). Do we need to submit a webform informing CIC/IRCC regarding this change after we get the new passport, or do you think if we submit the new passport after PPR would that suffice? We are not sure if this small update would delay our application even further. Also do we need to submit a new PCC associated with this new passport?

Any leads/links for relevant blog posts appreciated!:)

Not sure what phase your application is at. If you are just waiting for the final decision and PPR, I believe it will add delay. There is no statement from IRCC that if you renew your passport you have to update them.

Once you received the PPR, just send them both and they will put the counterfoil on the new passport.

Thanks a lot for your reply! My timeline is given below under my signature. Yes currently we are waiting for Background check, eligibility review, final decision and DM. I think I agree with you that once we receive the DM and PPR, we could then submit both passports and they should automatically stamp it on the new one. Anyways, we will wait and see what happens.

Thanks again! :)

I don't know whether it is required, but we did this for one family member. It was very simple: scan a copy, upload and submit in webform. We eventually got a confirmation it had been received and sent to the relevant office handling our file.

So since it is not difficult to do, it makes sense to advise them.

Did you experience any delays when you submitted the webform? Also, at what stage did you submit this webform in your application?

Thanks,

Hi all. Does anyone have experience with their VO requesting documents that you already included? We just received an email requesting the divorce certificate for previous marriage, but we already included the original. It's also from another country and it can only be obtained in person so it's impossible for us to get it again now. So frustrating.

I think it is weird for them to ask you that essential document almost a year after they received your application. Shouldn't they return your application if it is incomplete?

Country specific requirement. Do they require you to send original document and not a copy?

Any chance that they are questioning the legality of previous divorce? e.g. since it is overseas divorce, any one of your spouse and his/her ex had lived in that country for more than a year before divorce date.

Those are the questions that I can think of.
