@legalfalcon can i ask one question about applying for Work permit.
My PR is in process CEC.
Work permit is going to expire.
I am on PGWP and my spouse on Spousal work permit. Both are going to expire September 1st week.
We are going to apply for work permit and i am confused for question..
“Are you accompanying a family member who has status in Canada?”
Should i answer yes or no to this?
And what my spouse will answer?
If someone can explain what will be the answer and why?

@legalfalcon I'd really appreciate your take on when IRCC might start clearing the backlog and start issuing COPRs for those whose applications have been approved after March 2020. Do you think this can happen soon and will it depend on the country of residence? Thank you!
It will all depend on two factors

1. When Canada opens its borders and PHAC makes a recommendation that people can enter Canada; and
2. The situation in the country of residence, i.e. when the LVOs can start working normally and process passports in large volumes.

What can I say. They are giving ppr to those people who want to soft land and come back to US. While we want to go there and settle permanently and be with our family and yet no progress at all. It is so unfair.
@Thunderbird666 I don't know from where did you got that data point about soft landing but I am in US and waiting for almost 19 months. There is nothing criteria as such from what I see all FSW applicants are waiting for so long. From what I have seen PNP applicants are still getting but no luck for FSW.

That's just one of the many threads about soft landing that I got my data point from.

You will answer no as you are already in Canada and no one is accompanying you.

@legalfalcon Now that Canada has announced reopening the borders for all, and its already open for COPR holders since last 1 month, can we finally expect PPRs as outland FSW applicants? Its been really frustrating 18-20 months for most of us here. Same for LVOs, in my country, India, LVO is up and running, processing passport requests of students, WP holders, SOWPS, etc.

the border will technically open for most travellers on September 1 if the covid caseload stays low.

Also. whether the LVOs are open in your country of residence is another factor that will determine how quickly the PPRs can be issued.

@legalfalcon

Your thoughts on this please?

Primary Office: CPC-Ottawa
Secondary Office: Ottawa IRCC

AOR: Dec 05, 2019 ( PA is inland with 2 dependents outland)
Medicals: Dec 20, 2019 (Passed)
BIL: Dec 23, 2019 (Completed)
Approved : June 02, 2019 ( As per GCMS notes)

then file went on hold due to overseas dependents and noticed the following text in my GCMS.
"COPR Cancelled. Cannot be landed due to Overseas dependents. "
File Re-opened as DEP OVS

April 17 2021: My dependents arrived in Canada and I have updated my dependents address on the same day.

Sent multiple webforms for update and received the same generic response.

June 26, 2021: Received re-medical request for my dependents ( not for me as I'm an inland applicant)
June 28, 2021: Re-medicals submitted
July 09, 2021 : Re-medicals Passed

No update after this. I am not sure why they are not looking our file even our dependents arrived in Canada.
Is this re-medicals good sign for getting COPR?

Apart from the medical email (No medical required) which I guess lot of people got in the past week, I have not seen any movement on my file. I am not sure about others.
