Also, guys, I did my finger prints 2 months ago for some other purposes. Would they be acceptable since I've the results or it has to be new ? I assume not everyone is asked for one

Hi guys,

Does anyone know about or have traveled after applying for more than 2 weeks? I tried using Webform, but I can only enquire with that form, how should I update them? or I don't have to update them? I remember reading somewhere that I should notify IRCC if I am going more than 2 weeks, but unfortunately I cannot find the link now.

Hi guys,

Quick question. I see that they updated my application with the following:

  1. We sent you correspondence on February 27, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
Is asking for correspondence a regular ask during the processing stage? Or is it because they may need more information from me?

Thank you!

The processing time for a PR card renewal is about 80 days, so less than three months, so you could apply in July and still have the new card before the current one expires.

By July we'll have another 6 months of data on how long it takes for people who are under the same office to take their oath, so you know if it's worth doing the paperwork for the PR card renewal (I expect it won't be, but there's no risk in waiting a few more months).
Thanks. Yeah I think I'll wait until summer. 80 days is not too bad, I thought I might be more.

It is normally not standard. It could mean anything from missing information/document to just looking some additional supporting information to help clarify something.

Thanks keesio.

I called them and they confirmed that they sent a finger print correspondence. I am surprised they are asking for it cause they already did my prints for PR.

For what it's worth they're doing tests at the weekends in Mississauga. Not sure about the other sites but it does look like they are putting more resources to clear the backlog and lessen the processing times.
